Singapore Fashion Week 2006 - Gateway to Asia

Raffles students won both the First and Runner-Up at the Asian Young Fashion Designer Contest (AYFDC). To support budding Asian young designers, Raffles Design Institute (RDI) offers a scholarship worth S$58,000 for a three-year Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Fashion Design degree programme for the Winner of Asian Young Fashion Designers Contest. |

The Crowbar Award 2006

A total of 1,337 entries were received from 32 schools from Singapore, Malaysia, China, Thailand, UK, Australia and New Zealand covering categories - advertising, design, film, photography and interactive. Our students from Visual Communication and Interactive Media Design Departments have a total of 22 finalists in Singapore Crowbar 2006 Award, and Raffles Design Institute Singapore swiped away 20 awards with 2 Crowbars Awards out of 6 honours and 1 Gold Award out of 5!

HEP FIVE Original Fashion Contest 2006 in in Osaka, Japan

For three consecutive years, students from our Raffles Design Institute Singapore were shortlisted for the finals of HEP Five Contest. Raffles Design Institute finalist, Tsai Ming Hung, went to Osaka for the competition, fully sponsored by the organiser. |

Denim Workshop Finalist 2006 - Sponsored by StarHub and GAS

Out of 69 entries received from all design schools in Singapore, Raffles Design Institute Singapore has 7 finalists out of 10 who entered into the final of the Denim Deconstruction Contest, sponsored by StarHub and GAS. Both Raffles' Fashion Design students won the top prizes after impressing the Professional Panel and Youth Panel of judges, and featured in the "Catalog" magazine. |

Setting New Waves with Club Med

Club Med has approached RDI Singapore Fashion Design Department to design a new collection to be manufactured and sold at the Club Med villages in Asia Pacific. The winning team received cash prizes and 3 days stay in Club Med Phuket. |

Create Your Style with Swarovski Design Competition
18 to 21 May 2006.
Our Product Design students applied what they have learnt into accessories & jewellery making - designing home appliances at the Create Your Style with Swarovski Design Competition. 10 entries were selected to be made into actual items and Raffles Design has 3 finalists with 5 entries selected. Out of which, Raffles Design students (Hana Yunita Haryanto and Mei Cheng) won the first and third prizes respectively. |

Rotary Jewelry Design Competition 2006
Organised by Larry Jewelry
Rotary Jewelry Design Competition has turned regional! This competition is a vocational service programme specially structured to enable students to apply their design skills for the real world market under the guidance of leading industry professionals. Students were briefed about the design requirements and the most outstanding designs were selected from 293 entries received from Singapore, Hong Kong and Thailand.
Two to three top designs from each category were made into actual jewelries and they were showcased at the 40th Anniversary Dinner of the Rotary Club at Meritus Mandarin on 8 April 2006. Ms Hana Yunita Haryanto's design was one of them and her design is the ONLY Singapore entry which received this top honours.! |

The Raffles Marketplace Design Competition

Raffles City, one of the largest shopping and hotel development organised a design competition with Ogilvy & Mather Singapore, in conjunction to Raffles City's expansion plan.
Out of 50 entries submitted from all design schools in Singapore, two of our students from Visual Communication programme were among the five top entries selected. Their works are currently on display at Raffles City, one of the heaviest traffic shopping centre and MRT Interchange.

Lingerie Awards Runway Fashion Show 2006
