Studying in Malaysia - Admission Policy for Foreigners
General Information:
- Social visit pass holders are not allowed to study in Malaysia. The Immigration Department of Malaysia issues a student pass and visa to full time students ONLY.
- The application process takes about four weeks. The Immigration Department of Malaysia holds the final decision on student passes. An official letter will be issued.
- Foreign students must inform us on their arrival time at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). We are required to be present during the immigration check at the arrival hall.
- Students enroll for a specific programme (for example, Advanced Diploma in Fashion Design) are required to pay RM19,500.00 upon submission of their application. Please make bankdrafts / Telegraphic Transfer (T/T) payable to Raffles Design Institute Sdn Bhd. Details as below.

Malaysia Immigration Requirements for Student Visa / Pass Application
- Completed application form from Admission Office.
- Registration fee and first payment upon admission (bank draft / Telegraphic Transfer (T/T)) made
- 2 copies of applicant’s passport (all pages)
- Copy of applicant’s education transcripts and certificates
- 8 copies of passport size photographs
- A personal history (student resume), which must include: name, gender, date of birth, highest educational qualification awarded, parents' names, siblings (if any), home address, contact number,
work and education history.
