Raffles Design Institute (Singapore) was established in 1990. The design school has groomed many award winners who excelled in the fields of arts and design. Raffles College of Higher Education, Singapore was awarded the EduTrust certification for four years by the Council for Private Education (CPE). The EduTrust certification scheme is a voluntary certification programme for private educational institutions in Singapore, managed by CPE. This scheme provides a means for better private education institutions to differentiate themselves as having achieved higher standards in key areas of management and provisions of educational services.
According to the provisions of Singapore’s Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA), private schools in Singapore that recruit overseas students are required to be certified by EduTrust. Selecting an EduTrust certified school is a requirement for successful processing of an international student’s card.
Schools awarded with the EduTrust Certification must carry out:
- Management commitment and responsibility
- Responsibility for managing and monitoring the organisation
- External recruitment of quality agencies
- Student protection and support services
- Excellent academic programmes and student assessment
- Quality assurance and monitoring of results
The following necessary conditions must be satisfied before the awarding of EduTrust certification: credit rating, Fee Protection Scheme (FPS), provision of medical insurance, and compliance with terms and conditions of EduTrust.
