Introduction

If you love all aspects of the fashion industry from the glitzy fashion shows to exclusive, invite-only sales; want to be part of and contribute to the legacy of your favorite couturier; or even set up your own retail outlet, pursuing a Degree in Fashion Marketing & Management will show you how.

The study of Fashion Marketing and Management is an exciting field that exposes you to countless opportunities in the fashion industry. You will learn about buying and merchandising practices, conceptualizing, advertising and promotional activities.

Marketers in the fashion industry are responsible for creating a public image for the brand in the minds of consumers. Most marketers aim to join established, world-famous fashion houses for the glory and challenge while some develop preferences towards marketing the quality of cult brands or wish to take a gamble and grow with budding entrepreneurs by helping them build their image from scratch. As a Fashion Marketer, you will need a lot of passion and drive to survive in the competitive environment.

The essence of fashion marketing is to create a public image for your brand. You will be responsible to maintain or position your brand as required. For example, Louis Vuitton requires a classy, grand and expensive style while H&M markets their style as fun, funky and affordable. To achieve your company’s ideal image, you will find yourself networking with suppliers, media and clients to create publicity with news and promotions. Brainstorming for exciting promotions will be challenging, but seeing your work enjoyed by the fashion-loving public will be rewarding.

If you see yourself as a Fashion Marketer, Editor or Event Manager in the future, get a Degree in Fashion Marketing & Management to pick up the skills and knowledge necessary to work in the fashion industry.
