Introduction
By undertaking the Furniture Design course, you will be able to explore a variety of areas within contemporary and traditional Furniture Design - emphasising the need for creativity, innovation, exploration and experimentation - conceptually and through material applications and processes, which are investigated at all levels of study. In addition, you will be exposed to conceptual issues, problem-solving mechanisms, 'hands -on' construction methods, material analysis, sustainability issues and manufacturing methods within this course - supported by generic modules, aimed at enhancing your main area of specialism. You will also be required to understand the role of the contemporary Furniture designer within a highly competitive creative environment - locally, regionally and globally.
