RAFFLES NORTH SYDNEY FASHION DESIGN STUDENTS BLITZ THE TESSUTI AWARDS LAST NIGHT!!!

Fashion Design final semester student Isabelle Kim was awarded 2nd prize in the Tessuti Awards “Smart Eveningwear/daywear” category, and won the Rolls Royce of sewing machines as a prize: a Bernina machine valued at $1,699.

Yenny Waty, another fashion design graduate, who has just graduated in last week’s graduation ceremony took out 3rd place in the “Smart Daywear/Eveningwear” category and wona $300 Tessuti Gift voucher.

Peggy Hartanto, who won an award for “Excellence in Fashion Design” at last week’s graduation ceremony, was also a finalist in the “Little Black Dress” category, as was final semester fashion design student Jong Min “Gabriel” Lee.

That makes 4 places for Raffles fashion students in the competition.

Last year, Gisela Ramirez, also a former Raffles student, won 2nd prize in the “Smart Daywear/Eveningwear” category.

It should be noted that The Tessuti Awards are sponsored by French fashion school ESMOD, and so these wins represent an excellent benchmarking for raffles students against students from other fashion colleges worldwide.
