- Felicia Lee
When plans for the Integrated Resort were announced by Singapore Tourism Board, Felicia Lee, part time student of Hartford Institute decided to be part of the workforce in the hospitality industry.
Felicia's decision to take up the Advanced Diploma in Leisure Management programme was due to her passion for the growing hospitality industry and Hartford Institute is one of the few schools that offer such a programme that covers modules in Golf Management and Gaming Management. "The programme allows me to relate what I have studied into real practices! I have learned how to manage people in an organisation and how a golf club is being managed."
When asked how she prepared herself for the hospitality boom, Felicia replied, "My past and current work experience has allowed me to meet different people from all walks fo life and my greatest achievement is when I can turn an unhappy guest to a happy and satisfied one when he/she leaves Sentosa Golf Club. That is a good practical preparation and it is definitely something I can handle when a bigger challenge comes!" Felicia also has her lecturers to thank for when it comes to interpersonal and soft skills. "The presentation and class discussions have allowed me to brush up my interpersonal skills. I can speak better and I can handle difficult situations with grace."
Felicia intends to continue with her Bachelors Degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management after she graduate, as she feels that will propel her even further.
